A guide to main street U.S.A. – Disneyland Paris

Have you ever wished you could go back to the early 1900s and feel what it was like to live in that era? Women in gowns and hats with their parasols hanging from their arms and men with their striped suits strolling along neatly lined avenues? In the Disneyland Parks, whether it's in Disneyland Paris, Tokyo or the U.S., Main Street USA is there to bring you back to that era.

In Disneyland Paris, otherwise known as Eurodisney, Main Street USA is the first thing you get to see upon entering the Magical Kingdom. It is the gateway to other themes constant to any Disneyland Park namely Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Discoveryland.

Disney's Main Street USA at Euro-Disney boasts of the Disneyland Railroad that goes through the Main Street Station. Think of this railroad as a faster means of commuting to the other magical lands such as Frontierland and Fantasyland. It's a bit of a pity though as the railroad doesn't go through Adventureland. However, taking the railroad beats having to waste precious hours walking through the whole of Euro Disney. Taking the Disneyland Railroad is a great option, especially if you have toddlers and young kids tagging along with you.

If riding a train is not your cup of tea and you're into more quiet rides, horse-drawn carriages that pass along Main Street USA in Disneyland Paris can be another option for you. It also serves as a blast from the past as carriages were the means of transportation in the 1900s. Besides the carriages, the train also offers rides such as a vintage fire engine and police can which also serve as great kiddie attractions.

As you walk along Disney's Main Street USA in Disney Paris, you will encounter two arcades namely the Liberty Arcade and the Discovery Arcade. The Discovery Arcade boasts of scale models of what were great inventions during the 1900s. Children will get to learn a lot about these as they take a walk through this part of Main Street. It also serves as a good shortcut to Discoveryland and Town Square.

Across the Discovery Arcade is the Liberty Arcade and Tableau. It gives visitors a glimpse of history as it attempts to show key events during the inauguration of the Statue of Liberty. After all, the Statue of Liberty is something to be celebrated by both France and the US. The Liberty Arcade also serves as a shortcut to Frontierland and Adventureland.

The attractions in Disneyland Paris may be quite similar to those in any other given Disneyland Park. But then again, just like any other Disney Park promises to bring you hours of fun. For children, Disney Paris promises of magic. For adults, Eurodisney brings you back the feeling of how it was like to be a child. Whether you are in Adventureland, Frontierland, Discoveryland or Disney's Main Street USA, as in all other Disneyland Parks, one thing will always hold true for Disney is a magical place to be and is where all the magic begins.
